Extron XTP FT HD 4K MM, 4096 x 2160 Pixels, Bedraad, Zwart, Grijs, HDCP

The Extron XTP FT HD 4K is an XTP® transmitter that enables extension of video, audio, bidirectional control, and Ethernet over one fiber optic cable. This HDCP-compliant transmitter supports video signals at resolutions up to 4K with 4:4:4 chroma sampling. For streamlined integration, it features an HDMI loop-through with selectable audio control and enables embedding of analog stereo audio signals. Ethernet extension and insertion of bidirectional RS‑232 and IR allow LAN access and AV device control at remote locations. Signals can be sent up to 700 meters (2,297 feet) over OM4 multimode fiber optic cable and up to 10 km (6.21 miles) when using singlemode cable. The XTP FT HD 4K is ideal for XTP Systems® that require secure, long-haul distribution of pixel-for-pixel video, audio, and control signals.

The XTP FT HD 4K transmitter uses Extron all-digital technology to deliver pixel-perfect HDMI video signals at resolutions up to 4K. The features include support of data rates up to 10.2 Gbps, Deep Color up to 12‑bit, 3D, and HD lossless audio formats. To ensure device compatibility and optimal signal transmission between devices, DDC channels are actively buffered, maintaining continuous EDID and HDCP communication with the source and display. As an added benefit, the XTP FT HD 4K provides an active HDMI output that includes selectable support of embedded audio. This allows connection of a local monitor for operation visibility and troubleshooting.

Built for Professional Integration
To enhance and simplify integration of digital and analog AV devices, XTP endpoints utilize two Extron technologies: EDID Minder and Key Minder. EDID Minder automatically manages EDID communication between input sources and display devices, to ensure that sources power up properly and reliably send content for display. For HDMI and DisplayPort signals with protected content, Key Minder authenticates and maintains continuous HDCP encryption between input and output devices to ensure quick and reliable switching. If HDCP-encrypted content is sent to a non‑compliant display, a full-screen green signal is transmitted to the destination, providing immediate visual confirmation that protected content cannot be viewed on the selected display.

In addition to high performance video, the transmitter extends audio signals over the one cable. The XTP FT HD 4K supports multiple embedded digital audio formats with HDMI embedded audio available on the HDMI connector. It includes the capability to embed separate balanced/unbalanced analog stereo audio signals in place of HDMI-embedded audio for extended transmission. To allow precise control of the audio, the transmitter features audio input gain and attenuation adjustment and muting capabilities. This flexibility simplifies system design and reduces the number of cable runs between endpoints.

The XTP FT HD 4K can be used with an XTP receiver or scaling receiver for simple point-to-point installations or in combination with an XTP CrossPoint® matrix switcher for AV signal switching and distribution applications. Integrated with an XTP CP Fiber I/O board mounted in the matrix switcher, the XTP FT HD 4K provides streamlined transmission of 4K video. This design takes advantage of system level controls and the ability to extend inserted RS‑232 and IR between the equipment room and a remote endpoint.

The XTP transmitter includes an RS‑232 and IR insertion port, allowing bidirectional control of an AV device using the same fiber optic cable. This feature simplifies integration with a control system for managing the source device. In addition, centralized 10/100 Ethernet communication can be implemented via the Ethernet extension port to reduce the number of independent network drops required within a system.

Multimode and Singlemode Models Available
The transmitter provides industry standard LC‑type connectivity and is available in two formats: multimode and singlemode. The XTP FT HD 4K MM model supports OM4 multimode fiber optic cable, which is typically used within office towers, retail centers, and larger houses of worship with moderate-range transmission distances of up to 700 meters (2,297 feet). The XTP FT HD 4K SM model supports singlemode cable, offering long-range transmission capability up to 10 km (6.21 miles). It is used in large facilities, including digital signage and staging applications as well as connecting over very long distances between locations, such as corporate and university campuses. Because transmission of content is inherently secure and immune to outside interference, fiber applications are also favored in government, military, medical, and other sensitive environments.

Extron XTP Systems
Extron XTP Systems provide a completely integrated switching and distribution solution for multiple digital and analog formats. They support local connectivity as well as extended transmission capability for sending high resolution video, audio, RS‑232, and Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable and even greater distances over fiber optic cabling. Each system is HDCP compliant and delivers ultra‑fast, highly reliable digital switching with Extron's SpeedSwitch® Technology.

At the heart of a system is an XTP CrossPoint matrix switcher. The modular matrix switchers are expandable from 4x4 to 64x64, depending on frame size, and can be populated with a wide variety of XTP I/O matrix boards. Input and output boards provide direct HDMI, DVI, VGA, video, and audio connections to local sources and displays, and signal extension to remote endpoints when using XTP transmitters and receivers. The matrix switcher can also provide power to a remote XTP device over CATx cabling, depending on transmitter model.

The online XTP System Builder gives convenient access for complete system design. The tool also features a printable bill of materials, pricing, and quote submittal. Once the order is confirmed and received, the included XTP System Configuration Software enables easy setup and configuration right out of the box.

To configure, operate, and monitor the system in real time, user-friendly control software offers a complete view of all XTP devices from a computer. With hot‑swappable modular components, a wide selection of XTP transmitters and receivers, and advanced 24/7 system monitoring, XTP Systems are designed to provide continuous, trouble-free operation in the most critical applications.
